Be sure you have your LLC formed and it's active. If you haven't done that yet, click here.
Be sure you have any financing or insurance issues resolved.
Secure the vehicle's title. When we license, the original title is surrendered and "converted" to a new Montana title. We'll need the original title in order to license.
Note: we cannot register a vehicle with a salvage title.
Ensure the seller has signed the vehicle over to your LLC, not you personally. Click here to see how to deal with a seller.
Is your vehicle imported? Special, additional documents will be required. Call us for details.

All motorhomes:	$420 plus Montana license fee
Automobiles:	$420 plus Montana license fee
Trailers:	$420 plus Montana license fee (permanent plate - no annual renewal)
Motorcycles:	$420 plus Montana license fee (permanent plate - no annual renewal)
2nd vehicle licensing:	$250 plus Montana license fee

PRIORITY/EXPEDITED handling is available for registration and title acquisition ($350).

A lot of it is up to you: we'll begin preparing your licensing documents within hours of your submission. We may require additional documents from you
The day we receive a proper vehicle title or MCO from you, we'll put you in the registration queue. For important shipping and mailing tips click here.
We'll Priority Mail your plates when we get them.
Your Montana registration will follow in 4-8 weeks, the title will come 8-10 weeks later.
PRIORITY/EXPEDITED handling is available for registration ($350). Please note that there is no option to expedite issuance of the Montana title.

We'll take the documents and the title to the Dept. of Motor vehicles and get your plates.
We'll Priority Mail your plates when we get them.

It's up to you: the faster you get the boat's title and any other supporting documents required to us, the faster you'll get your decals. For important shipping and mailing tips click here.
The day we receive the ORIGINAL signed registration documents and boat title in our office, we will review your documents for accuracy and place them in queue for registration in the order in which they were received in our office. Due to high seasonal volume at our MVD, standard registration times are currently 8-10 weeks from initial receipt of documents in our office.
PRIORITY/EXPEDITED handling is available for boat registration and decals for an additional $350 per vessel/vehicle. 40-day temporary permits are also available for $75.
We'll Priority Mail your decals to you when we get them.
Your Montana title will follow approximately 10-12 weeks after the boat is registered. Please note that there is no option to expedite issuance of the Montana title.

You'll send us the original boat title and any other registration documents.
We'll merge the data you submit with the Montana boat registration documents.
We'll review your documents for accuracy. We will reach out to you if any changes or corrections are required, and put your documents in queue for registration in order of receipt in our office once the documents are ready for registration.
Standard registration times are currently about 8-10 weeks from the date documents are received in our office. Expedited registration handling is available for an additional $350 per vessel or vehicle.
We'll Priority Mail your decals to you when we get them.
