Did you know that you can purchase a boat through your Montana LLC, and you can potentially save thousands of dollars on registration fees? Montana Corporate charges $250, plus state fees to process your title transfer. State fees range from $100 to $335, so your total will be somewhere between $350 and $600, one time only.
When you register your vessel in Montana, it is permanent. As long as your LLC remains active and in good standing, you will never have to renew your boat registration.
In order to register your vessel, fill out the requested data form on our website, mail us an original Certificate of Origin, or out of state title and registration, signed by the owner. We will use these to title and register the vessel in Montana.
When you register your vessel in Montana, you will be given a MT boat number, which is typed on a yellow sticker. You will need to place the letters and numbers on each side of the bow, with letters that are no less than three inches in height.
You will receive a paper copy of your registration, and a Montana title will be sent to you a few weeks later.
